March 29 from 11am-4pm Spaghetti Dinner sponsored by Pleasant View UMC and Embrace of Waynesboro. Dinner at 932 Fir Street in Waynesboro, VA. The dinner will consist of spaghetti with meat sauce, roll, salad, tea, water or lemonade and dessert.
Beginning April 2, on Wednesday nights, the Life Recovery Group meets at St. Paul UMC, located at 220 W Main St., Christiansburg, Meeting is from 7pm-8:30. We will meet in the activity building behind the church. This is a 12-step faith based group dealing with chemical/process addictions as well as other hurts one has or is experiencing. April 5, 2025: Registration is now open for the Valley Ridge District "Faithfully Embracing Autism" symposium at Calvary UMC Stuarts Draft, Saturday April 5. Alexandra Jackman is coming to the Valley Ridge District United Methodist Church and will be doing a TED talk style conversation with Shannon White, along with a keynote talk about embracing those with autism.
Alexandra Jackman is a dynamic and accomplished advocate and public speaker with over 10 years of experience. Addressing head-on such critical issues as anti-bullying, human rights, the bystander effect, and acceptance of those who are different, she has created engaging and successful presentations and speeches for private and public organizations, non-profits, schools, film festivals, and conferences throughout the country. Alexandra's presentations often include a screening of her award-winning documentary, A Teen's Guide To Understanding and Communicating with People with Autism.
Alexandra has been a featured guest/interview subject on numerous TV, Radio, and Internet shows including CBS Philadelphia, WPTV - NBC West Palm Beach, ABC San Francisco, WEI Network, Special Needs Talk Radio Network – The Coffee Klatch, PANJ Radio, Scholastic, Huffington Post, Autism Speaks, NJ.com and the New Jersey Jewish News.

Saturday April 12 Pancake Breakfast at Calvary Stuarts Draft, located at 2179 Stuarts Draft Highway in Stuarts Draft, VA. Breakfast is served from 8:00-10:00 in the Fellowship Hall. The pancake breakfast is right before the Eggstravaganza, so families are welcome to join both.
Saturday, April 12 annual Easter Eggstravaganza at Calvary Stuarts Draft, located at 2179 Stuarts Draft Highway in Stuarts Draft, VA. This is a free family event. Activities start at 10:00 am and will include crafts, yard games, an inflatable, ice cream, and the Easter Egg Hunt for children up to 5th grade. Egg Hunt Times are 10:30 am: Pre-K; 10:45 am: K to 2nd grade; 11:00 am: 3rd to 5th grade. More information can be found here.
April 24-27, 2025 Joyful Journey Trip with St. Mark's UMC in Daleville. Joyful Journey Travels is an outreach ministry of St. Mark's UMC in Daleville, Va. It offers overnight trips geared to Sr. citizens, but any age is welcome. Children sometimes accompany their grandparents. The trips are arranged by White Star Tours, owned by a Christian family, in Reading, PA. They range from 3 days/2 nights to 6 days/ 5 nights. Prices cover deluxe motor coach transportation, lodging, hot breakfasts, dinners and sometimes lunch, all sight-seeing, professional guides, luggage handling, taxes, and meal gratuities. Trips originate and leave from St. Mark's. Vehicles may be parked and left at the church. Trip offerings and details are on the church website stmarksmethodist.com or by emailing [email protected]. Saturday, April 26 UWF Spiritual Life Retreat at Crockett Spring UMC and Alta Mons Camp and Retreat Center, located at 2842 Crockett Spring Road, Shawsville. 10 AM: registration and refreshments. 10:30 AM: program followed by prayer walk/ drive, lunch, and cluster conversations. Saturday, April 26, 2025, 10th year Anniversary of Blessing of the Bikes. Line up at 9:30am at St. James UMC, we will ride to Goshen's Pass for the Blessings, then continue riding through the county, going through Deerfield and then returning to the church. A free lunch will be provided by the church. All are welcome regardless of religion or type of motorcycle. No registration fees and donations are not accepted. Come Join us! You'll be glad you did!
